VPD Surveillance Report, January – March, 2016
Total of 3,380 measles suspected cases reported in first quarter of 2016. Out of these
suspected cases 1,151 blood samples were collected for Laboratory confirmation. 415 (36%)

Parliamentarians are the only group that can hold governments accountable for their commitments, influence policies and funding, generate visibility and provide leadership to control and eradicate the nine Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPDs) still a threat to the Pakistani communities.
Saudi Delegation Visit to Federal EPI 11th July, 2014
In response to the travel restrictions, under International Health Regulation (IHR-2005) imposed on Pakistani International Travelers by the World Health Organization (WHO) the Pakistani Government took seriously its responsibilities as a signatory to the International Health Regulations, 2005 (IHR) being fully committed to their implementation in letter and spirit.
Measles SIA, 2014 Field Visits
A team comprising of Mr. Azhar Nisar Sheikh, Health Education Officer and Aleena Illahi Communications Consultant visited Districts Abbotabad and Swat in order to conduct a Measles SIA Campaign Evaluation from 27th – 30th May, 2014.

Overall motivation level of public was high and in terrible hot summers, parents were bringing their children to the fixed centres and outreach teams. It was observed that best source of communication was “word of mouth” and lady health workers and social mobilizers are playing a critical role in it.
