Pakistan CSOs Coalition for Health and Immunization (PCCHI)

Pakistan CSOs Coalition for Health and Immunization (PCCHI) is a platform of CSOs who are working on health and immunization. The aim of the platform is to organize and strengthen CSOs to offer wide range of services and outreach for providing access to better health and immunization services to the children of Pakistan. PCCHI member CSOs programmes’ revolve around community mobilization, research, advocacy, awareness raising, demand promotion, monitoring and service delivery for reaching difficult, uncovered, security compromised and hard to reach areas. PCCHI keeps harmony with Federal, Provincial, District health departments and particularly EPI cells to place coordinated efforts for increasing EPI coverage rates of Pakistan.

Features

  • PCCHI can reach out to rural communities of Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Federally Administered Tribal Areas;
  • PCCHI has member CSOs who have experience of working for advocacy, awareness raising, social mobilization and demand promotion for equitable immunization coverage;
  • PCCHI has technical expertise to conduct scientific research, independent monitoring of immunization campaigns, coverage evaluation surveys, etc.;
  • PCCHI can work in security risk, culturally and religiously rigid areas and urban slums for immunization;
  • PCCHI maintains members from 75-80 districts and have developed a coordination mechanism and can quickly mobilize on a large-scale project;
  • PCCHI member CSOs have reach to marginalized and poor of the poorest communities who are deprived of basic health services; and
  • PCCHI works in coordination with health authorities at district, provincial and federal level to address issues pertaining to service delivery of vaccination through join efforts.

Mission

To collectively reach the unreached through health system strengthening by supporting the government for achieving Sustainable Development Goals.

Governance System

The organizational structure comprises three tiers i.e., National Executive Body, Provincial Executive Body and General Body. The National Executive Body consists of four members, one from each province. Provincial Executive Body exists in each province i.e., Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan and each Provincial Executive Body has three members from its respective province. National and Provincial Executive Body elects its chair on yearly basis. The elections are held once in three years to form National Executive Body and Provincial Executive Body. Secretariat serves as a coordination and facilitating body between and with each tier and stakeholders.
