The primary focus of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (U.S. CDC) is to protect public health by preventing and controlling diseases, strengthening health systems and promoting evidence-based public health practices.

Working in collaboration with national health authorities, international partners and public health institutions, the U.S. CDC supports efforts to strengthen disease surveillance, laboratory capacity, outbreak preparedness and response, and the prevention and control of infectious diseases.

In Pakistan, collaboration with public health authorities and development partners contributes to strengthening immunization systems, improving disease detection and response, and advancing efforts to protect communities against vaccine-preventable diseases. These efforts support national public health priorities and contribute to improved health security and more resilient health systems.
